We are happy to welcome back our AGCCI2018 participants: Sera Momodou Ndure of Marina International School and Isatou Ceesay of West African International School WAIS who both travelled to Addis Ababa Ethiopia from 20th to 31th August to represent the Gambia at the Africa Girls Can Code Initiative (AGCCI2018).
The AGCCI 2018 -2022 is Africa wide initiative organized by the UN Women, International Telecommunication Union ITU, in collaboration with the African Union Commission AUC, sponsored by the Denish Government
Internet Society Gambia Chapter with support of the PURA and the Gambian Embassy officials in Addis Ababa were able to successfully nominate and support these two brilliant science students to take part in this two weeks long coding camp where over 80 girls across Africa gathered to connect and learn to be future Digital Innovators and Policy Makers.
ISOC Gambia Chapter would like to thank the parents of the students, HE Ambassador Sulayman Alieu Jack (Gambia Ambassador to Ethiopia) and entire team, Dr Dawit Bekele (Director ISOC Africa Regional Bureau), Mrs. Jamilatou Saidy Faye of PURA for the tremendous support in helping our Gambia Participants succeed. Congratulations to Sera and Isatou. We look forward to further engagement.
